The coastline at this beach was once an area where the Pioneer Mill Company would store
sugar, where it would then be transported by train to nearby Lahaina. The Lahaina,
Ka'anapali and Pacific Railroad can still be seen on the other side of the highway,
and is now commonly referred to as the "Sugar Cane Train."

This is a very popular beach, right in the heart of the large resort community which
is Ka'anapali. Any activity from surfing to snorkeling to parasailing can be found
off this beach just about year around. Close to both the Marriot and Hyatt Regency hotels.
