This beach is believed to have once been a landing site for local people travelling
by canoe. It is one of six bays along west Maui whose name begins with "Hono", which
translates to "Bay."

Description

This small beach doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but the formation of the
beach rock is such that it has created two shelves off the shoreline. Between the two,
the water is much shallower and makes for an ideal swimming area for children.
