More parking is available at Wahikuli park and walk north of the beach, at the Hyatt or
in the Whalers Shopping Center. Beach is good for families, but be cautious of the shorebreak,
which can be dangerous. Beach tends to have a lot of volcanic rock, but with more sand
near the south end. The Hanakao'o Cemetery is located right next to the dirt parking area.

There's generally no crowds at Hanakao'o despite the close vicinity to other Kaanapali Hotels.
The Kahana Canoe Club is based in Hanakao'o Beach Park. There is a lot of good tree shade within the
park, making it ideal for parties and picnics.
